whatever comes down the pike the next 4 years, no abortions, amendments to suppress gays, unfathomable deficits, trashed environment, an ultra-conservative supreme court, catering to billionaires and corporations, 3 dollar a gallon gas, war, and whatever other disasters await. I don’t give an F. It’s incredible to me that W will slither through again.

Shawn, the world is not going to be better in 4 years. If your happiness is tied to the price of gas and not being in a war then you are never going to be happy. Sure I wish we could have peace and not war, but human nature is to be conflicted on issues. I agree that the Bush camp overplayed the fear card in this election, but it does not change that fact that America is targeted for our freedoms.
What is your fear of an ultra-conservative supreme court? If you truely cared about the enviroment, why do you own so many cars that pump gases into the sky? Another catch phrase from the liberals no doubt. Economies come and go, but the choices we make will have enternal impact.
You know where I stand on issues, but it seems that after reading your blogs I sense that you are never truley happy and spend much of your time reacting to the next disaster in your life. I suspect that you understand that life is missing something, but to admit that you would be less of a man or better yet “not living in the real world” I truley hope you discover what I already know to be true hope for the future.

My happiness has zero to do with the price of gas. It has zero to do with any politician. However I do care about the big picture and the big picture is Bush is going to continue to quietly stuff the pockets of the rich, keep people living in fear, and exploit our environment.
Why do I care if Bush appoints 4 new conservative justices? The impact of that could extend far, far beyond the 4 year sentence we have to serve with Dumya. That could impose an ultra-conservative right hand lean on the court for decades to come. That is why I care.
I appreciate your concern for my happiness and I know you are very content with where you are. But I could discuss what you are getting at for days and I don’t think I want to have that discussion in my blog. 🙂

ah, shawn, don’t get so down. The only way is to work together to find a common ground. Partisianship needs to be set aside and politicians need to remember they are civil servants meant to work together to come up with great ideas and actually implement them for a change. Wanting to stay divided isn’t the answer. Wanting to work together is.
