Email power, WoW weekend milestones, dog, back, mattress improvements
I have been on a roll with getting things done via email. I have a track record of using email as an effective means of getting my point across. I just overturned what the Directv dolt told me on the phone with an email. Now after paypal denied my claim against the ebay asshole that ripped me off, I managed to get them to change their minds. When I got the original email from them that said they denied my claim, I responded back to it (even though the email from specifically said to not reply to it since it was not monitored). In my response I ripped Paypal for not doing any real investigation and taking over 5 weeks to come to the wrong decision. Surprisingly, I got a response to that email with a generic, form letter type response saying they were sorry but the case was closed. Again I responded back, again restating case and complaining about receiving canned responses to customer complaints. AGAIN I got another generic reply and AGAIN I replied with more of the same. This happened 2 more times and then out of the blue on Monday, I get an email from Paypal saying if I return the merchandise to them, they would refund my money. Wow, persistence pays off. I didn’t expect to get anywhere with my tirade. I was sure to forward a copy of the refund offer to the asshole ebay seller just to tweak his ass.
Even though I did more than a little work around the house over the 5 days, I had TONS of time to do nothing else but drown myself in World of Warcraft. I accomplished some big goals in game. For example I leveled my priest to 40, specced him as a shadow priest and also got him his mount. (a ram) The priest also has achieved artisan levels in Enchanting and Tailoring. My warlock hit level 45 and also is an artisan in Herbalism and Alchemy. My warriors primary duties over the weekend was to gather raw materials for the other characters as well as spend some time in the battlegrounds gaining honor points for pvp rewards. Yea I may be going crazy. 🙂
Yesterday Nicki started barking out the front window like she always does when human or animal appears on the road in front of the house. I leaned over from my computer chair to see what she was barking at. I was amazed to see what I am almost sure was the big dog that we had DAS pick up last week, on a leash with his owner walking up the road. I was relieved to know that he made it back home and to see him leashed. The owner would have had to pay 100 bucks to get the dog out so hopefully they learned an expensive lesson to keep their pets contained so they don’t run away or worse. Damn he was a good dog.
Ali flew back home last night. Her flight was delayed, something that seems to happen regularly when she comes back from PA. Her US Airways flight was below average as usual. We reaffirmed our vow to never fly the airline again, they seem to take pride in doing the least amount possible to make their passengers comfortable. Nicki was crazed with joy to see ALi when she got home, she cried like she was in pain when she saw her. Then she sprinted around the house and almost wagged her tail off her ass while she gave Ali a bath. It’s quite the sight. It’s nice to have Ali back.
When I was at Sam’s Club over the weekend I picked up one of those viscous foam mattress toppers. Both Ali and I wake up with aches and pains and I hoped this may help alleviate some of that. We put it on the bed last night and were pleased to wake up this morning missing those little pains in our back that we have come to accept as normal. Damn it may actually work.
Keener flies in tomorrow. I have to stock up on beer after work. We should have a good weekend of drinking, gambling, playing games and hitting the beach in front of us.
