Hybrid Camry

For the longest time Ali has been bugging me about getting a Prius hybrid.  She is very “green” and the Prius is the greenest car around.  I haven’t jumped in because of the costs and the fact that a Prius is yet another sub-compact car, which my last 5 vehicles have been.  I am a bit tired of the cramped quarters.  Plus a Prius is very expensive for it’s size, 25 to almost 30k.

Well I happened to stumble across a review of the 07 Camry hybrid.  The Camry to me always has had ho-hum plain vanilla styling.  Sure it is a Toyota so it has superb build quality and reliability but it was so boring to look at.  Well the 07 model has been redesigned and now actually looks cool.  Throw a hybrid drive-train in there that gets better gas mileage than our current Nissan Sentra and you have a combo that gets my attention. 

The most surprising part of the package is the price point is right in there with a Prius, somewhere around 27k.  That is more like it.  Whenever I decide I am ready to take the plunge and get into the hybrid world, the Camry hybrid will be on top of the list.
