More tidbits

Through out the weekend we got to hear little bits and pieces about Dave’s job, he is a state policeman but he has additional responsibilities that you would not think fall under the realm of that department.  His job seems incredibly diverse and interesting, the exact opposite of my job.  He is well compensated for his work and gets all sorts of perks ranging from great insurance to a new car every year.  Of course there is that little “you can be killed in the line of duty” thing.  Nevertheless it was quite interesting to hear some details about what he does.

When I started in the computer business for Entre/Ameridata/GE my job had similar levels of diversity.  Every single day was different with projects going on at various businesses in the south eastern PA area.  It made the job stressful but interesting as well.  Every day was filled with new faces, new problems to conquer and new locations to do them in.  This is a stark contrast to my job of the last 8+ years were things are typically very static.  The only change of scenery is when I change the background on my computer desktop.  Yea it pays well, is low stress, has good benefits and is stable.  But damn, there are some days I would just kill for something different.

I have not had a chance to see the two hour series finale for Battlestar Galactica yet.  I am concerned because I heard Howard talking about it today.  He said he HATED the finale. Many times my opinions on things follow similar paths as his, I am hoping this is one of the times we deviate.  I love the show so much, it would be a shame to have the finale leave a bad taste in my mouth, Soprano style.
