IR, more pics, weekend work will wtfpwn me
I am certainly glad that the triathlon was last week instead of this week. I am a bit of a mess. My current list of ailments includes a bad right elbow/forearm, two aching knees, a couple hurting toes and what feels to be an ear infection.
I didn’t wear ear plugs for the triathlon. I thought I would be ok because I pulled the cap completely over my ears or so I thought. I have a long history of having ears that are very susceptible to swimmers ear/ear infections. Yesterday my right ear started to hurt a little in the morning and by last night it was very painful and pounding.
I took a couple Advil and they did a good job of reducing the discomfort. I woke up today with the ear not hurting much but feeling like I have some sort of wetness inside. I guess sometime today I’ll head to the employee health clinic to have it checked out. It only costs me 5 bucks to do so.
I got the link for the official race photos last night. It’s a total of four pictures. Unfortunately the company that shoots these tries to steal money when it comes to charging for these shots.
If I wanted a CD with 4 measly pics on it they would charge me $70. Thanks but no thanks. I’ll just screen scrape the preview, thanks very much.
Ali is out of town today and most of tomorrow at some conference in Orlando. I have a ton of stuff to do in her absence.
One of those things will be data entry. Last night Ali and I spent more than two hours putting in paper entries for a race next week. This race is unique because it is a corporate run where businesses compete as teams. We haven’t devised a way to do electronic registration with this format so everything is 100% paper which sucks to say the least.
To make matters worse the majority of people that compete in this event are not regular runners so they aren’t already in the timing system. As a result our data entry load goes up dramatically.
In addition to all of the data entry work I have a lot to do at the house. I want to use the steam cleaner on the carpets this weekend. As I mentioned we are watching our ex-neighbors dog this week. He neglected to mention to us ahead of time that Zoe has this little urine leakage problem so now I am paranoid there are little urine spots around the house, hence the extra project. I am sure we would have agreed to watch Zoe even if he told us but it would have been nice to have a heads up.
Sir Randall
It’s amazing how the photographers try to rape you for these events. I had roughly 6-7 photos of me from my tri and I think they wanted $90 for the CD. I think that if they lowered the price, they’d find that more people would buy.
If they were smart, they’d find a way to photo shop the finish photo to have your actual finish time for each racer. Yes, it’s more work but I think poeple would be more likely to buy a photo of their actual time instead of the race time. Clearly, you did not run the race in 3 hours.
