Trying to beat it

So I saw on my little Windows 7 weather widget a bunch of rain drops for the next 3 days so I figured I better get my ass out on the tractor to mow the grass last night.  I also saw on the widget that the forecast lows for this weekend were actually in the middle 60’s.  When the thermometer hits the 60’s here after a long hot summer that is always a big deal.

You see for close to 6 months we never drop out of the mid 70’s over night.  Once we see our first 60 something evening that means the more comfortable winter weather is at least on it’s way.   I have had quite enough of the wet and steamy weather for 2011, thanks very much.

So anyway the property was still damp from the rain earlier in the week but at least most of the standing water was evaporated.  It is getting a bit late in the year to do post-work mowing.  I finished up the job via tractor headlights.

Ali is out of town tonight and a good chunk of tomorrow at some meeting. My weekend plans are varied.  Besides the normal home maintenance I would like to take a shot at putting the new brake pads on the Camry, building on my successful Tacoma brake transplant the week before.

I’d like to head outside and work some more on my muscle up progress.  In addition to my stretched out forearms, I have a bruise on my chest under my nipples that has been healing up.  I’d also like to get back to our Sunday water park visits, something we haven’t been able to do consistently for several months for various reasons. With my still touchy knee, running is off the menu for awhile but I’d like to at least bike and swim.

Sunday evening I pick my mom up at the airport.  My uncle was nice enough to pay for her to fly up for a few days to visit.  Mom needs to do a lot more busting out of her self created box of limitations.  This is a good way to kick start it.

Boring entry, I know.
