SOX!, air

Wow I can’t believe the Red Sox won. What an amazing comeback. I managed to stay awake until the end. I had to see them celebrate after doing something that is unprecedented. It was cool to see the Yankees and their fans get knocked off the saddle. Even though the Sox crushed the Yankees, Terry Francona made one of the stupidest managerial decisions I ever saw. He brought in Pedro in relief when they were up 8 runs. Plus the starter had only allowed 1 hit and 1 run up to that point! It was totally asinine. Why bring in one of your best starters on one days rest when you have the world series coming up in a couple days? Plus, his insertion in the game immediately brought a spark back to the Yankee fans since they hate Pedro. He immediately gets tagged for 2 runs and then gets pulled the next inning. It was totally ignorant. I suspect that Pedro himself asked to be put in because he wanted to get some degree of revenge for the verbal abuse he took the other night. Well all he did was add to his legend of being owned by the Yankees. I really hope the Sox win and I hope they face the Astros. Having Clemens come back to Boston would be classic.

In a few hours I will be airborne, on my way back up to PA for a few days to visit my 2 new neices and my one “old” one. I’m excited to see them but I’m not thrilled about heading up to PA. Prior to leaving I have to drop off Nicki at the kennel which will be very depressing. While I am up there we will be making the rounds visiting various people. My list of people to visit has slimmed out since my Dad now lives in New Mexico and my little brother and sister are off to college.

It’s sort of weird since Ali has been away so long, it almost felt like being single was my new state of existence. It’s been close to 2 weeks. I can’t say I did anything you would think a single man would, like getting hammered out of his mind, going out socializing or anything else remotely exciting. The main difference was I could do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. However being solo meant I had a lot more of “whatever” to do since there is one less set of hands in the house. This has been the longest I have been by myself in 8 years or so.
