Soggy Rumble, Insurance Bullshit
The full video is online now. It is about 17 minutes long and around 44 megs so dial up people steer clear. Enjoy the misery. I will be doing an abbreviated version as well.
I forgot to mention at the 5k Ali ran on July 4th I saw a runner do something new. A minute or so before the race, the pack is at the starting line. One tall, younger guy trots out a couple dozen yards in front of the pack, kneels, genuflects, says a prayer, genuflects again and runs back. I guess God helps 5k runners just like football players.
My hatred for insurance companies deepens. Yesterday I got a letter from my credit union saying my escrow account was nearly $2000 negative. I called them up and asked why it was so far negative. The woman said they just sent a nearly $3500 dollar check in for home owners insurance! WTF? When we moved into the house my home owners was around 800 bucks a year. How in the world can they justify a 400% increase in the span of 5 years???? It is ridiculous. Insurance companies collect premiums nationwide for years and years, amassing huge profits and when they actually have to pay out for a couple disasters they respond by gouging their customers instead of dipping into the vaults of money they have stashed away. I read an article while in PA that said that despite all of the disasters in 2005, it was the most profitable year EVER for insurance companies, raking in some 43 BILLION dollars. It is absolute, total horseshit. Between car and home insurance I will be dropping $5500 this year. That is a HUGE amount of money. All of that so that when I have hurricane damage I get the privilege of spending 7k out of my pocket. Damn I am angry….
