Prepping
Some people would view the upcoming three day Labor Day weekend as an opportunity to get some extra relaxation time, maybe go to the beach, have a cook out or lay on a hammock. I viewed it as a chance to work on another item on my list, painting. Specifically I want to get the office painted as part of our methodical rotation throughout the house, adorning the bare white walls with color. Last night I wanted to get a head start on the project so I started pulling stuff out of the room. I got all of the shelving cleaned off and pulled out of the space. Some of the stuff in there is going to just be pulled away from the wall for painting, specifically our desks and all of the computer/network equipment. It goes without saying that I need to stay “plugged in”, even during a painting project. We are planning to paint the office the same color as the guest bathroom, an earthy green that I really like.
I haven’t said anything really about the upcoming Eagles season. I haven’t been able to see any of the preseason games but the recaps I have read all seemed positive. Of course it is the preseason and they ALWAYS say things look positive during the preseason. As a lifetime Eagles fan I have learned it is best to go into each season with minimal expectations and just try to take it as it comes. This season, like the last 10 seasons hinges on how Donovan plays. All reports are that he is healthy and looking good. Unfortunately over the past 5 years he has proven to be less than durable. Oh well, at least I get to watch them drive me crazy in HD this year.
Yesterday I did my second consecutive day of 300‘s, yet another first. I expect the remaining three to be increasingly difficult as the soreness from the prior workouts piles up and multiplies.
I had another weird dream last night that I only remember a fragment of. Me and some dude had guns. The dude had an older style gun, it sort of looked like a beretta except it was painted yellow with blue stripes. My “gun” looked more like a cordless power tool. The bullets were loaded in the same manner you slap a battery pack into a cordless drill. We were at the old house at Gouglersville and wanted to find some trees to shoot at. Every time I was ready to take a couple shots at a tree various dogs kept running into the line of fire, including Nicki. Finally the dogs cleared out and I shot a few rounds. My gun made hardly any noise as it popped a few small holes into the side of the tree. That’s it.
