Repelling advertising, I miss the Griswalds

Today in a parking lot I saw a tricked out original Hummer.  It had at least a 2 foot lift kit along with monster tires on huge rims.  Proudly displayed on the front and sides was the name of some plumbing company.  I have seen similar examples of business owners flaunting their wealth and I just don’t get it.

Am I the only one that sees a $100,000 vehicle with a company name/logo on it and assume that the way they afforded that vehicle was by gouging the shit out of their customers?  For me at least, any company name I would see that adorned such a vehicle would never get my business.  It totally sends the wrong signal in my opinion, look at me, I made a fortune on other customers, can I make a fortune on you too?  Sure enjoy the spoils of your wealth, just don’t slap a flashing neon sign on it.

I watched the 15 minute Griswald mini-movie that was made for homeaway.com.  Man it was laugh out loud funny.  Even totally gray, balding and fat, Chevy Chase is solid gold in that role.  Man I wish he would make another vacation movie, I’d see it in a second.  Look for yourself.
