Repaired, prep, 7
So my replacement inside door handle for the Tacoma showed up yesterday. I mentioned how surprised I was that I found the part so easily and inexpensively, only $12 including shipping. The replacement handle is not a perfect color match for the old handle but I supposed 12 years in the Florida sun has bleached the color of any interior plastic.
Replacing the handle was pretty easy involving only one screw and some manipulation of the actuator rod. In total the job took maybe 5 minutes. It will be nice to not have to McGyver myself out of the truck any longer.
This weekend we will be getting all of our ducks lined up for our upcoming NYC/Ireland adventure. Randall might be stopping by briefly on Saturday afternoon on his way to St. Pete. I am hoping we will be doing a bartering deal where he loans me season 5 of Dexter and I give him two Tivos and my spare Xbox 360. Yea it sounds like he is making out on the swap, oh well.
Certain house chores like cleaning and mowing the grass will be put off until later next week so things are in good shape while mom is tending the homestead.
Happy birthday to my niece, Caroline who turns 7 this weekend. It’s pretty hard to imagine she has been around seven years already. The time warp is only accelerating.
