Offloaded, birthday number 2

Since I did my year end recap yesterday my New Years Eve blogging requirements are much lighter than normal.

1524719_10152699755717841_1286164_n[1]Last night I celebrated Sadie’s birthday the same way we celebrated Nicki’s bday a couple days prior, with a vanilla cupcake.  Sadie was very anxious to enjoy her birthday treat as was Nicki.  They both scarfed down the treat and licked the plate clean.

At dusk I took the Phantom out for a flight.  It looks especially cool at night because of the LED lights on the bottom of the aircraft.  I had it up in the air for quite awhile, flying big, high loops well beyond the fence line.  I heard kids in two different backyards saying “What is that??!!!”

The LED lights on the Phantom also make flying in the dark only moderately more challenging than flying in daylight.  I had no problems keeping track of my orientation.

maxresdefault[1]Cindy and my simple New Years plans were thrown together kind of last minute which is fine with me.  I have never been one to need a fancy New Years celebration and have been quite content watching stroked out Dick Clark ring in the New Years.  Now that Dick is gone that tradition has come to an end.

We are going to see Anchorman 2 at the fancy Silverspot Cinema which is located in Mercato.  After the movie lets out we will grab an adult beverage somewhere, watch the ball drop and head home.

A reasonable bedtime would be helpful since we are pulling ourselves out of bed way too early to participate in the running club’s New Years Day free 5k “race” followed by the Polar Plunge afterward.

As another year comes to an end, let me offer this to the many people that read my babble here on a regular basis.  I sincerely hope your 2014 is filled with blue skies, open roads and laughter.  Dufman, out.
