Ghost in the machine

I forgot to relay a pretty funny story from last night.  There are a lot of things I like about the Xfinity X1 platform.  One of those things is the ability to use my phone as a remote control for the system.  Last night Cindy was in the bedroom folding laundry while watching a show recorded on the DVR.   I walked over to my phone as I was putting away dishes and fired up the Xfinity app which works through your local wifi network.  I selected the bedroom unit and started the search function.

All of a sudden I hear Cindy going “What the heck??!!” as she grabbed the remote to get back to the normal screen.  I then continue the search, entering in various profane words as I hear Cindy’s confused ranting intensify.  I yelled back and asked her what was wrong.  She said the tv was acting strange.  “That’s weird.” I said in as innocent and disinterested of a tone as I could muster.

When I initiated yet another profane search she finally came out.  I heard her coming and immediately resumed putting away dishes as she asked me if I was doing it.  I asked her what she was talking about with my back turned to her but as soon as she saw my face she realized that I was the ghost in the machine.
