7 hours and still lazy?, Sick, Migrating, Iron Man
My list this weekend was deceptively short. I say this because a couple of the items on there, weed whacking and mowing consumed around seven hours of time. I shit you not. I mowed both the front and back of the property and even the jungle-like border on the outside of the fence that has vegetation at spots exceeding three feet in height with high density. It was the toughest test for my new Husqvarna tractor and it was up to the task. The Kawasaki motor is rated for less horsepower than my old Craftsman but it sure doesn’t act that way, it just kept plowing ahead. It was a ridiculous amount of time to spend mowing in one weekend but I hope it is the last time it’s necessary until spring.
On Saturday while I was mowing Cindy surprised me and washed all three vehicles which was a nice surprise. That was something on my secondary to do list that I had not been getting around to. Cindy also spent time over the weekend assembling the 3D printed Iron Man helmet which has been quite the task. She made it so the front part is attached with magnets, making it easier to put on/take off although I’m not sure how comfortable the helmet would be to wear for a prolonged period of time.
I spent a lot of time over the weekend getting my new PC online and migrated enough that I could switch over to it as my primary system. I got to that point later in the day Saturday. My HP Omen got moved temporarily to a corner of the room but kept online so I could access it as needed. The next step will be migrating Cindy to that machine. So far my new PC is performing as well as I hoped.
Saturday night I was in VR on my Quest 2. I was in another social app that also included various games. I decided to try my hand at paintball. The game itself was very realistic and immersive, maybe too much so. Before long I became very motion sick and developed nausea that lasted the rest of the evening. That didn’t stop me from being in VR though, I just watched a movie in a virtual theater instead. Getting the Quest 2 has been a real cool experience. Really the only thing I wish is that Cindy could be in there with me at the same time….
On Sunday it got to be almost 5PM and I realized I hadn’t done any PEV riding, for the second weekend in a row. I decided I needed to shoot something so I grabbed five of my devices and did quick rides around the freshly mowed but still bumpy back yard. I wanted to get a good feel for just how different devices with suspension feel to their traditional stiff counterparts. I’m not sure how good of a video it turned out to be but it was better than nothing, I guess.
It’s sort of crazy, despite doing all of this work I somehow felt like I was lazy Sunday evening. It’s nuts.
