Getting ready, more oldies
Last night after work I started getting ready to paint the dining room. I pulled stuff off the walls and moved the furniture around. The one cabinet I was able to move without pulling all of the glassware out. The large china cabinet was a different story, fully loaded it was right about at the limit of what I could physically lift so I pulled the drawers and various stuff out of it after which it was more manageable. I moved the big table against the one wall. My plan is to paint 3 walls in the room, move the stuff back and then paint that final wall. Sounds like a plan. All we need is for mom to help us finalize our color decision, buy the paint and get to work.
I did my first 300 since May yesterday. I was somewhat pissed at myself. I only did 23 pull ups during the first set but did the rep count of everything else leaving me two shy of the magic 300 rep mark, something I haven’t done since Novemeber. Well I am hoping to do another session next week during which I will get the full 300 reps come hell or high water.
My Uncle Randy dug up some more old pictures from his collection. Two of them are pictures of my beloved 69 Firebird convertible. I only had one picture of the car for the past twenty years, well now I have three. This picture must have been early on in my ownership stint. It still has the original moon caps. Later on I added Cragar SST mags and air shocks to give it a more “aggressive” stance.
In the picture is Missy and I believe my sister in the back seat. The second picture is all about the short shorts. Behold my legs in all of their greatness.
I am thinking that I am somewhere in the neighborhood of 18 or 19 years old in the picture. Man I loved that car.
My uncle also dug up another real old picture I never saw before. This time it is my great grandmother, my cousin Jennifer, me and cousin Steve all checking out a Mad magazine at my grandparents house during some Christmas in the 7o’s.
I was a big fan of both Mad and Cracked magazine. I read them regularly. Growing up Steve was probably one of my closest friends as well as being my cousin. Sadly once we both reached adulthood that bond faded and I haven’t seen him since my mid 20’s. I had some brief email contact with him a year or two ago but that was it. It sounded like he was doing well. Oh yea I guess I should post the picture.
