Debated out, Vette

Well I am glad the debates are over. For those of us who watched all 4, last night became mostly a rehash of things we have seen and heard before. As before, Kerry picked apart Bush’s presidency with facts and figures and Bush retorted with more catch phrases and generalities. One thing that caught my eye was when Kerry did his closing speech, he ended it like a president normally does when he addresses the nation. I guess that was supposed to be a subliminal message. Nothing really new came out last night and more than likely, people on each side of the fence stayed there. I can only hope enough new voters come out to push Kerry over the top. It’s going to be a tight race.

The Vette is running well since my last tweak to the TPS sensor. After I let Nicki out at lunch, I brought the Vette back to work. I had the AC blowing but the weak fan was just not cutting it. So I did a bit of research and found out that a new blower motor is a relatively inexpensive part so I decided to grab one on the way home. After work I installed it. Of course it wasn’t simple, to install, it required pulling a front wheel and removing the wheel well to remove the unit, but by now, I never expect anything to be easy when servicing the car. The swap took me around an hour, not too bad. Afterwards the airflow was obviously better but not as quite as good as I would like. After some experimentation I noticed that the vents don’t seem to switch as they should. On normal AC mode there is a bunch of air still coming out the defroster vent which isn’t how it is supposed to be. Add another thing to the list.

Today for some reason I got some action from my AutoTrader ad. I got 2 calls. Both seem to be legitimately interested. We’ll see. I really enjoyed driving it yesterday. After work I took the top off for the drive home. It is a bit cooler now so it is more agreeable for open air driving. Even with the headaches I will have some regrets when it leaves my garage permanently.
