I didn’t say anything about losing on moral values, and I know it is mentioned in the article but that isn’t the part I most agreed with. To me, the election was all about the power of money, fear and the religious right, as those are the core support for the current administration. Although I know you would never openly preach hatred towards gays, there are many that call themselves devout Christians that do. Someone that chooses to lead a gay lifestyle to me is no different than anyone else. If they choose that way of life and it isn’t adversely affecting others, so be it.
The problem to me with using the bible for your guidelines is first, it was written 2 thousand years ago, things have changed a little bit since then. Second people pick and choose what parts of the bible they want adhere to and enforce. Third, it is open to interpretation. The way you understand a verse in the bible can easily be different than the way I might interpret it.
My bible is common sense.
Whew way too much to respond to here. The KKK base their ideas entirely on what is in the bible by thier strict interpretation. I could live my life by the word of comic books and I could possibly do just fine too. It’s all about the way each person interprets it. It’s cool that you have found “perfect” peace. I don’t know that I could be comfortable with such a state of mind because I am just too skeptical of what that peace is based on. I need proof and to this point in my life none has been presented to me.

Typical response from the Liberal press. I find it very interesting that the public blames Bush for Terrorism. It was going on before Bush took office and will go on after Bush leaves office. The world is a messy place and there are factions of religons that don’t like our way of life NO MATTER WHO IS RUNNING OUR COUNTRY. They do not want to make friends with us, they want to kill us.
Shawn you have really bought into all the catch phrases the media has been shoving down your mouth. My personal favorite “spin” is the bashing of anti-gay people. The spin is that they preach “hate” and are intolerant if you don’t agree that homosexuality is ok. But if gays disagree with your views they can scream and yell at you and it’s not considered hatefull of intolerant. Humm, can you say double standard? Our country is in a big hurry to get rid of God in everything we do. You can’t seperate faith from action. They go hand and hand. Since most liberals have no faith, they can let
popular culture deturmine what they stand for. It’s no surprise that our country is deeply divided when it comes to gay rights. The Bible says its wrong, so those that follow it will take a stand against it. This does not mean they “hate” these people, simply they cannot condone their lifestyle because of their faith. To tell them that they can’t follow their faith is intolerant and unfair.
