A few ticks, now what, pompous
You may remember I mentioned that the day we got back from our trip I started to feel like I was catching whatever Ali had the few days prior to that. Well I never got full blown sick to the degree that she did. Instead I have been hanging just a few ticks below healthy. I have been blowing my nose more often than normal, feeling a bit depleted energy wise but otherwise still able to function.
Well after yesterday I had no doubt that I was still firmly in the grasp of this mysterious illness. I decided to run at the gym. The plan was to do my standard 3 miles. Well it was a struggle right away. Typically when I run it feels uncomfortable for maybe the first half mile or so but then you settle into a rhythm. Well I never hit a rhythm. In fact I was struggling with every step, I just had no energy. I hit the stop button at two miles, I just had nothing in the tank.
It’s a weird malady. I’m not sure if this is just a lingering cold. I was talking to Jeremy about possibly playing in vball tourney with him next week but I am concerned that if I still feel this way it would be a colossal flop. If I felt like I did yesterday I wouldn’t be effective at all.
I have to shake my head over the LeBron James Decision tv event on ESPN. I mean wtf, do we really need a one hour show and a two hour lead up to find out what team is going to overpay for LeBron James? Even though supposedly some of the advertising dollars go to some charity, I think it still paints James in a negative light, as a big, pompous jerk. I mean who actually cares about / watches the NBA anymore? I could care less about it and most the people I know feel the same way. Stupid.
I saw some NBA team paid some guy that I never heard of who won the scoring title this year 85 MILLION for FIVE YEARS, a 21 year old kid. I mean WTF? The league deserves to go out of business. No human being deserves to be paid that much money for bouncing a ball around.
I finished Season 5 of Lost last night. Now I have a problem. I wasn’t sure if there were 6 or 7 seasons of the show. It turns out this past season was number 6. Well the problem is it isn’t out on DVD yet!
The final episode of each season of course had huge cliff hangers. However with the beauty of Netflix there was no need to sit and wonder what happened next, I simply added the next season into my instant queue and and the questions were answered in quick order. Now I have to sit and wait like real LOST fans did for the past 7 years.
I have been on a non-stop 5 season Lost binge rapid fire like a coke addict. Watching so much Lost plot in such a short time is pretty nuts. It also makes going cold turkey difficult. So now I get to sit and stew. “Did the nuke gimmick actually work?” “Was history changed?” “What exactly is John Locke 2.0?” No more instant gratification, it’s just time to wonder and wait.

Hi, well I think you should see a doctor about your illness, can never be too careful. Last year, I was feeling bad, had some kind of virus or bacterial infection that would not go away. Went to the doctor and she had me stay off work for two days, appears I had a virus that I could not shake because I was working too hard.
Erica and I also went through all of the Netflix LOST seasons 1 to 5 in about a month. We were addicts too and it seems funny we need to wait until the final season 6 comes out on August 24th. I liked the earlier seasons better, season 5 had too much time travel, which is a paradoxical concept anyway.
On Jacks’ solution to prevent the Airplane crash on the island, if he is successful by blowing up the hatch in 1977, then the plane never crashes, but if the plane never crashes, then how can he go back in time to 1977 to blow it up? Paradox and illogical. That means that the plane must crash, there is no way to stop it. It is what Daniel spoke about when trying to change the past, it does not work. I believe that must have been smart Daniel after being on the island. If the plane must crash, then Jacks’ plan to blow up the hatch with the H-bomb either has no effect OR it actually causes the electromagnetic surge to be enhanced that would bring down a plane. I seem to remember that in an earlier season when they had first discovered the hatch, I remember there was magnetism and radiation present in 2004. So that radiation is the bomb Jack detonated in 1977. Too bad Jack did not remember that fact and think this through. But I guess it is the way it had to be. So, my theory is that by blowing up the hatch with the Nuke actually is the cause of the plane going down. Jack’s plan is a failure.
It is a mystery about John Locke 2.0, but I think somehow that he is the bad spirit that was on the island with Jacob. Why does this JL 2.0 have John’s memories?
I also do not understand why Sun did not go back in time with the other “Oceanic Six”. The other illogical thing is Jinn, how did he wash up on the island as it had already moved? If this were true, the Oceanic six should not have escaped either.
As you can tell, I am a LOST addict!
