Huge
Last night we discovered we had a couple MASSIVE heads of cauliflower in the garden. Our cauliflower plants have grown to a huge size but up until recently we hadn’t even seen the heads. They are deep at the core of the plant and wrapped in leaves. You don’t see the heads until they get big enough to pop out from behind the leaves.
I never harvested cauliflower so I wasn’t quite sure what the best way was to do it. I wound up awkwardly hacking away at the base with my garden snippers. Eventually I extracted the heads from the plant. They were each bigger than a softball. I think we have discovered the key to successful gardening in Florida, raised beds.
Ali doesn’t like eating raw cauliflower so we will wind up mashing it like potatoes. It’s very rewarding to be producing so much food from our garden. We still have broccoli coming out of our ears and our swiss chard plant seems to be a never ending source of salad greens.
I was quite tired last night. I couldn’t even make it all the way through an episode of Dexter.
Randall chimed in his opinion on the Ali bike discussion yesterday. Unfortunately for him, his opinion seemed to be more or less in line with mine. As a result he is now in danger of losing chocolate cake privileges.
