Rapid running

Ali asked me if I could run with her after work at the water park.  Since my 2 mile test run on Sunday went alright I told her I would go.  Ali really hates to run alone.

Today her training plan called for her to run for 40 minutes and part of the run was supposed to be 20 second fast cadence runs on a hill.  There is a bridge outside the park which would make do as her hill.

Of course a July late afternoon in Florida is very warm and humid, far from the best time of day to be out there.  It didn’t take long until I started minding the heat.  We ran the outer 2 mile loop around the park and then headed out onto the road toward the bridge.  Once we got there I stopped and acted as Ali’s timer, calling out 20 second intervals where she would change direction and run/up the hill using short choppy strides. She had a total of 8 intervals to do. After the intervals we ran back to the vehicles, the total run distance was 4 miles.

Again my knee held up fine, even after doing legs at the gym Wednesday that included a DEEP squat routine.  I was a sweaty mess.  Luckily after toweling off I had a dry third t-shirt in my gym bag to put on.

I received my made in China, generic 250 gig hdd for my new Xbox the other day.  I slapped it in and it worked just fine.  It was close to half the price of what I would have paid for the official Microsoft version.

Ali is going to be going out of town for a few days for a conference starting Saturday.  I am already in the planning stages for my various activities.
