I just got done dropping off Ali at work. One of the downers of working at a nursing home in Florida is they expect staff to be there during hurricanes. My mom decided to stay with a friend of hers that is only 5 miles off the coast instead of coming out here, against my advice. So tonight it is just me and the mutt holding down the house. Everything is boarded up and put away, I have the 2 vehicles parked sideways in front of the garage door to buffer some of the wind hitting that.

Today we treated like a pretty normal day, we ran in the morning, watched the Eagles pull out a game I was sure they were going to lose and carried on with our day. No big shakes. I tried to give little thought to what difference 24 hours was going to make to my surroundings. I walked around and took pictures outside so before and after shots would be more meaningful.

I find it comical that crazy Jack did zero prep work for the storm. The guy is a contractor for God’s sake yet they didn’t board up one window or pick up one thing outside. Hell his garbage bins are out in the middle of the driveway. I just don’t get it, the laziness……

The latest I heard was the storm is getting a bit stronger, 110 mph and it currently has a huge 60 mile wide eye which means there is going to be a large area that feels the high winds, including us. Right around the time Nicki likes to take her morning walk it will be upon us full strength. Right now it is a bit windy and I drove through some light rain, nothing compared to what is approaching.

Let’s hope we weren’t foolish for sticking it out. Signing off till who knows when…
