HD Antenna for cable details

I got a few questions about the details of swapping  out my Comcast cable for HD pulled in via an HD antenna.  In my situation it will be really very easy.

When we had our house built there was no cable available in the area, I actually used an antenna to pull in the local networks.  In addition, when we pulled coax for the various rooms we pulled two runs for each, meaning I already have a second set of coax I can use for the antenna signal to be routed through out the house.

In a normal situation you would just connect the coax from the antenna to the feed where your cable used to be connected.  I also have a powered amp if need be to make sure I have strong signal.  It is currently being used to boost the weak Comcast signal levels that cause my HD picture pixelate on a regular basis without amplification.

Physically mounting the antenna will involve attaching a 20 foot pole to the side of the house, mounting the antenna and grounding it.  I’ll be sure to document the install process.

The antenna cost $130 with free shipping from Amazon.  It should show up next week. You can get the more compact HD antennas for $50 or less.
